St. Andrew's zeal for the faith was evident throughout his life. From his childhood years of whispered prayers to his unwavering dedication to serving his people as the first ordained priest in Korea, and finally to his courageous witness in martyrdom, Andrew remained steadfast and strong. That strength was rooted in his personal relationship with God. Even when the sacraments were not available, he understood what a gift it was to follow Jesus and yearned to know and love Him more. The fire that burned within St. Andrew sustained him all the way to his martyrdom.
