An original icon of St.Ephrem from our June Prayer Card Club!

St.Ephrem, often called the "Harp of the Holy Spirit," composed extensive hymns (Madrashe) praising Mary and defending her role as the Mother of God. This style of poetic hymns is attributed to him. As someone who struggled with poetry in HS, it's so cool to see the fruits of it now and how God chose to speak through Ephrem. What an epic way to share the Gospel and teach church doctrine.
