Archangel Raphael

Archangel Raphael (Res Malaka Rapael (in Syriac)) has a name that means "God heals" and in this icon we see him depicted with a chalice and spoon used to administer medicine. It reminds us of the role he played in the book of Tobit when he healed the blind.
