Our Lady of Carmel

Carmelite spirituality is so beautiful and centered around a life of deep prayer and contemplation-all beginning with the prophet Elijah in the mountains of Carmel.
Our Lady is depicted in this icon wearing the brown habit of the Carmelite order, representing humility and dedication. The scapular then symbolizes her protective embrace over the faithful. This icon and the sacramentals we wear to this day invite us to deepen our connection to her and the rich tradition of Carmel.
