Place Garibaldi

Place Garibaldi is the oldest square in Nice and is one that I stumbled upon on one of my sunrise strolls through the city. I had meant to paint a different square that day but after finding this gorgeous building and an ideal ledge to setup my palette, I knew I had to pivot. Capturing the light as it hit the yellow exterior of this building and the statue out front was such a fun way to start the day.

All paintings from this plein air study are 9in x 12in and unframed. Most were painted on oil paper, but some on canvas boards, and all will be signed and varnished.
