Sunrise in Nice

After a friend of mine sent me a video of the "gatorade water" you can see at sunrise in Nice, I knew I would need to spend some time at the beach and capture the famous luminous waves. This particular morning did not disappoint-the water was clear, reflected the cotton candy colored skies, and had waves gently crashing the pebbled shores. It was an idyllic morning.

All paintings from this plein air study are 9in x 12in and unframed. Most were painted on oil paper, but some on canvas boards, and all will be signed and varnished.
